Hours are 8 a.m. - noon Saturday until November 1, when opening time shifts to 9 a.m. Leashed dogs are welcome. Can't make it on Saturday? The booths at Lakeside Farmers' Markets are staffed by growers sharing helpful information about their production methods, along with suggestions on how best to use their goods and even how to start your own vegetable garden. Administrators of the market are so confident in the quality of their vendors' produce that they offer a unique guarantee. If customers are dissatisfied with a fruit or vegetable purchase, it can be returned for a refund, exchange, or credit within seven days.   Located in Richmond's historic Shockoe Bottom neighborhood, the 17th Street Market has been in operation for 275 years, making it one of the oldest public markets in the United States. Not content to be simply a source of produce, specialty foods, and artisan crafts, the 17the Street Market regularly hosts a number of lively special events. The lineup in 2024 has included the Corniest Fall Festival Ever, Latin Jazz & Salsa Festival, and Blues and Brews.
